Droits de douane américains : L’UE « attend » des États-Unis qu’ils respectent l’accord commercial 22.02.2026

The European Commission is demanding that the United States honor its trade agreement following President Donald Trump's announcement to increase tariffs after a Supreme Court setback to his trade policies. The Commission stated that "an agreement is an agreement" and expects the U.S. to uphold its commitments, just as the EU does. They are also seeking full clarification on the U.S. intentions after the Supreme Court's decision, which has cast significant doubt on the future of the trade deal. This deal, signed last summer, had limited U.S. tariffs on most EU products to 15%, a reduction from Trump's threatened 30%. German MEP Bernd Lange called for a suspension of legislative work until a legal assessment and clear commitments from the U.S. are provided, citing "total tariff chaos" and growing uncertainty.
