DSS Re-Arraigns Malami, Son Over Alleged Terrorism 15.04.2026

The Department of State Services (DSS) has re-arraigned former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), and his son, Abdulaziz, before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik at the Federal High Court in Abuja. The re-arraignment is based on an amended charge concerning alleged terrorism and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition. The prosecution informed the court of the amended charge and sought to withdraw the initial one, to which the defence counsel agreed after confirming their clients had been served. Malami and his son are accused of preparing to commit acts of terrorism in December 2025 by possessing unlicensed firearms, including a Sturm Magnum 17 – 0101 firearm, 16 Redstar AAA 5’20 live rounds of cartridges, and 27 expended Redstar cartridges. Both defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges. The court adjourned the trial to May 26 and June 15 for proceedings.
