Dzhamilya Nurkalieva steps down as Director of the Tselinny Center for Contemporary Culture 07.07.2026

Dzhamilya Nurkalieva is officially stepping down as General Director of the Tselinny Center for Contemporary Culture after eight years of successful leadership. Since 2018, she has worked in close partnership with Artistic Director Alima Kairat, shaping the center's educational, research, and publishing programs, as well as developing international connections in Kazakhstan. Despite leaving her administrative position, Nurkalieva will retain the honorary title of founding director in recognition of her fundamental contribution to the organization's mission. Alima Kairat will continue to serve in her current role. Moving forward, Dzhamilya Nurkalieva plans to focus on projects in cultural development, international cooperation, and the creation of new institutional initiatives both within the country and abroad. The Tselinny Center was founded in 2018 by patron Kairat Boranbayev and opened in 2025.
