The East African Legislative Assembly (Eala) approved a supplementary budget of approximately $4.79 million (Sh12.61 billion) for the 2025/2026 financial year during its third meeting of the fourth session of the fifth Assembly, held in Arusha in a hybrid format. The approval followed a report by the Committee on General Purpose, which scrutinized the funding request submitted by EAC Council of Ministers chairperson Rebecca Kadaga. The original budget for 2025/2026 was $109 million, but emerging priorities necessitated extra funding. After deliberations, the Assembly approved expenditures of $4.74 million (Sh12.473 billion).
