Chinese media reported on Thursday (2nd) that an octogenarian in Wuhan, Hubei Province, tore up banknotes from his long-term pension savings due to mental confusion. His family member, Mr. Xu, sought help from the Xinzhou branch of the Wuhan Rural Commercial Bank. The bank urgently deployed 13 staff members who spent over 20 days piecing the notes back together, eventually successfully exchanging approximately 266,000 yuan (approximately 307,000 HKD).
