Elderly woman, 73, sent to hospital after collision between PMD & lorry in Toa Payoh 07.07.2026

On the morning of July 7, 2026, a 73-year-old woman was involved in a severe collision between her personal mobility device (PMD) and a lorry along Lorong 6 Toa Payoh. According to eyewitnesses, the lorry driver, described as being in his 20s, allegedly ran a red light that had been active for approximately 10 seconds, causing the collision that sent the elderly woman flying. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) responded to the accident at 10:15 am and conveyed the victim to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Following the incident, the driver stopped his vehicle about 100 metres away before being taken away in a police car. Subsequent reports indicate that the woman later died following the accident, and the driver was arrested after police discovered drug paraphernalia inside the lorry.
