Elevés en Normandie, les alpagas d'Ayala et Franck offrent tout un monde de douceur et de chaleur 22.02.2026

Ayala and Franck, residents of Bois-Arnault in the Eure region of Normandy, have dedicated the past ten years to raising alpacas, animals originating from the high Andes and still relatively unknown in France. Their herd, which includes Ginger, Hollywood, and Atacama, was established after an initial interest sparked by a conversation and subsequent visits to alpaca farms. The couple moved to Bois-Arnault to provide adequate space for their gregarious animals. They have learned to appreciate the alpacas' calm, intelligent, and clean nature, noting their unique habit of defecating in designated areas and their gentle impact on pastures due to soft footpads. Each spring, the alpacas are shorn, yielding up to four kilograms of exceptionally warm, fine, and resistant wool per animal, which Ayala then transforms into artisanal creations like hats and scarves, sold on commission and occasionally exhibited in Paris.
