China's embodied artificial intelligence sector experienced robust growth during the first five months of 2026, driven by strategic inclusion in the 15th Five-Year Plan. Data from the State Taxation Administration reveals that the industry is expanding rapidly, with 3,025 existing enterprises as of May 2026. Sales for these enterprises jumped 22.4 percent year-on-year, fueled by a 2.3-fold increase in robot purchases by industrial enterprises. Geographically, the sector shows strong clustering, with Guangdong dominating the market by generating 78.7 percent of total sales revenue. Innovation is also surging, evidenced by a 119.35 percent year-on-year increase in new company registrations in 2025. Experts note that China's long-term planning and investment in robotics have placed the nation at the global forefront of intelligent industry research and development.
