En Belgique, un ambassadeur américain friand de polémiques 22.02.2026

U.S. Ambassador to Brussels, Bill White, has generated significant controversy in Belgium. On Tuesday, February 17th, he was summoned by the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs after accusing Belgian authorities of antisemitism for not prohibiting a judicial investigation in Antwerp concerning illegal ritual circumcision practices within the Jewish community. Just three days later, White announced via Instagram that Conner Rousseau, the leader of the Flemish socialist party Vooruit, was subject to an official travel ban to the United States. This action followed Rousseau's Instagram post criticizing the actions of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minneapolis, comparing ICE's conduct to Nazi troops in Europe after the deaths of two individuals by federal agents in January.
