The Caisse d’Epargne Normandie, the sole bank exclusively serving the entire Normandy region, distinguishes itself by being client-owned and a certified B-Corp since 2021, reflecting its societal impact. Out of 1.1 million clients, 224,000 are sociétaires, holding shares and thus having a voice in the cooperative's governance, with each sociétaire possessing one vote regardless of shareholding. This democratic structure is reinforced by seven local savings societies that elect representatives to oversee the bank's strategic direction. The bank has relaunched its "Club des sociétaires" to empower clients from mere consumers to active participants, transitioning purchasing power to the power to act, notably through its endowment fund which has disbursed nearly €10 million to over a thousand Norman associations since 2012.
