En Turquie, la crise de l’industrie textile fait trembler le pays 22.02.2026

Turkey's textile and apparel industry, a significant sector of its economy, is experiencing unprecedented social unrest marked by strikes, sit-ins, and worker protests. Recent incidents include Elsa Tekstil in Izmir, where 250 employees were reportedly laid off without compensation, leading to factory blockades in January. In Tokat, workers at Sik Makas, a supplier for brands like Levi's, H&M, and Zara, have repeatedly struck since October 2025 due to delayed wages and dismissals without severance. Despite official bans and arrests, workers have persisted in their demonstrations. Similarly, the Baspinar industrial zone in Gaziantep saw strikes across nineteen factories in the weaving, clothing, and leather sectors, driven by wage disputes and deteriorating working conditions.
