Encino fire: Brush fire off Encino Avenue in Los Angeles County, residents report smoke; map, visuals 07.07.2026

A brush fire, identified by CalFire as the Encino Fire, erupted on Tuesday afternoon near Encino Avenue in Los Angeles County, California. The wildfire has been reported to be spreading uphill, causing significant smoke to reach the city of Encino and surrounding areas within Los Angeles County. While the forward progress of the fire was successfully stopped at eight acres, current reports from WatchDuty indicate the fire size is approximately 5 acres. Authorities have established structure defense to protect local properties. Although no formal evacuation orders have been issued at this time, a Level 2 ‘Set’ warning has been implemented for residents in the immediate vicinity.
