2 hours ago - Chhattisgarh Chhattisgarh private schools face off with government over RTE reimbursement, announce ‘non-cooperation’ 3d ago

Private schools in Chhattisgarh have initiated a non-cooperation movement against the state government, demanding an increase in reimbursement amounts for students admitted under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009. The Chhattisgarh Private School Management Association (CPSMA) argues that the current reimbursement rates, unchanged since 2012, are insufficient to cover rising educational expenses for the 25% of students from weaker sections mandated in private institutions. They seek to raise per-student reimbursements from ₹7,000 to ₹18,000 for primary, ₹11,500 to ₹22,000 for secondary, and ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 for high and higher secondary classes, retroactively for the last three years. This action, which began recently, could disrupt the ongoing admission process for the next academic session, impacting student registration and allotment.
