Craft beer giant BrewDog temporarily closed all 72 of its global bars on Monday, October 23, 2023, to facilitate its anticipated sale, which is expected to be announced early this week. The Scotland-based brewer, known for brands like Punk IPA, brought in consultants AlixPartners in February to manage the sale process. This closure is attributed to licensing issues arising from the imminent change in ownership. US brewer Tilray Brands is reportedly nearing a deal to acquire parts of BrewDog, following the withdrawal of Scottish businessman James Watt from the bidding. BrewDog, which employs 1400 people and achieved £357 million in sales in 2024, has previously engaged in crowdfunding initiatives.
