Urgent warning to pet owners as scientists discover TOXIC cancer-causing chemicals in popular wet foods 3d ago

A recent study published in Environmental Pollution has revealed the presence of toxic, cancer-causing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), also known as 'forever chemicals,' in popular commercial pet foods, particularly wet varieties. Researchers analyzed 100 pet food products sold in Japan, originating from various countries, and detected PFAS in many, with higher concentrations found in fish-based and dry products. However, due to larger serving sizes, wet foods were identified as the primary source of daily PFAS exposure for companion animals. The study highlights the urgent need for further investigation into the health effects of these persistent chemicals on pets, which have already been linked to liver and kidney issues in dogs and cats, and a range of serious health problems in humans.
