ERC suspends power disconnections from May to July 2026; allows installment payments 05.05.2026

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has officially announced a suspension of power disconnections for both residential and non-residential consumers who fail to settle their electricity bills between May 2026 and July 2026. This measure aims to provide relief to citizens facing financial strain due to high electricity costs, which the commission attributes to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Furthermore, the ERC is implementing a flexible three-month installment payment plan specifically for consumers whose monthly consumption does not exceed 200 kilowatts per hour. To facilitate this initiative, the burden of these deferred payments will be shared among energy power generators, ensuring that distribution utilities can maintain operations while supporting consumers during this challenging three-month period of economic uncertainty.
