Espagne : « Vous n’avez pas jeté les fleurs ? » Neuf jours après, le podium modifié après réexamen de la photo-finish 24.02.2026

Nine days after the Clasica de Almeria cycling race on Sunday, February 15th, Italian sprinter Matteo Moschetti was retroactively demoted from third to fourth place. A review of the photo-finish revealed an initial error, confirming that Dutch veteran Dylan Groenewegen, a six-time Tour de France stage winner, had actually crossed the finish line in third. The mistake likely occurred because Groenewegen's wheel was obscured by another rider, Milan Fretin, in the original photo-finish analysis. This decision marks Groenewegen's third top-three finish this season. His team, Unibet Rose Rockets, humorously acknowledged the change, inquiring if Moschetti's team, Pinarello-Q36.5, had already discarded the podium flowers. Moschetti will reportedly retain only his UCI points.
