Ethiopia officially assumed the presidency of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) during the organization's Council of Ministers Meeting held from July 15-16, 2026, in Addis Ababa. The meeting brought together ministers and senior officials from the 79 member states to discuss key policy, institutional, and strategic priorities. Following the official handover, Finance State Minister Semereta Sewasew outlined Ethiopia's commitment to a results-oriented chairmanship, emphasizing the expansion of economic opportunities, mobilization of sustainable financing, and strengthening of partnerships to deliver tangible benefits to citizens across all member countries.
