The launch of the first introductory passenger service on Etihad Rail marks a transformative milestone for the UAE’s tourism and transport sectors. This new rail link significantly improves connectivity between emirates, specifically reducing the travel time between Fujairah and Abu Dhabi to approximately 105 minutes. Operating at speeds of up to 200 km/h, the trains can accommodate 400 passengers per trip and offer both Comfort and First Class options. Saeed Abdullah Al Samahi, Director of the Fujairah Department of Tourism and Antiquities, noted that this strategic development will boost hotel occupancy and support the hospitality sector by enhancing visitor mobility. Once fully operational, the network is expected to serve roughly 10 million passengers annually. This sustainable infrastructure project aligns with the UAE’s broader vision of integrated economic growth, making it easier for residents and visitors to explore the nation's diverse cultural and natural attractions.
