EU police smash ring smuggling Vietnamese into Europe 09.04.2026

Europol announced on April 9 that a criminal network smuggling Vietnamese migrants into Europe, with Britain as the final destination, has been dismantled. The operation, led by French police and culminating on March 30, resulted in eight arrests, including a network leader in Germany and a high-level organizer in Hungary. Migrants entered the Schengen Area via Hungary, often using short-stay visas, then traveled to France by air. In France, they were held in Paris before being moved to the north and handed to a Kurdish-Iraqi group for dangerous Channel crossings in small boats. This network reportedly transported at least 15 migrants monthly, charging up to €22,000 per person for the entire journey.
