The European Commission has announced a €40 million call for proposals to enhance Europe’s capacity to repair submarine communication cables, alongside €5.8 million in funding to establish the first two regional cable hubs in the Baltic Sea and the Mediterranean. This initiative, detailed in a press release, is designed to ensure a rapid and effective response to major submarine cable outages, particularly in emergency situations.
