Every driver to get $100 fuel support payment in WA budget 07.05.2026

The Western Australian government's 2026-27 budget will provide a $100 fuel support payment to every registered driver in the state, aiming to alleviate cost-of-living pressures. Treasurer Rita Saffioti announced this measure, along with increased spending on housing, hospitals, and education, as part of the state's eighth consecutive operating surplus. While the budget anticipates a $3.5 billion surplus for the current year and $2.4 billion for the next, net debt is projected to reach $34.5 billion due to infrastructure investments, though WA maintains the lowest debt burden nationally. The fuel payment will be accessible via the Service WA app from July 1, requiring drivers to submit their license and bank details. Additional budget allocations include significant funding for health and mental health services, and student assistance payments for primary and secondary students, with an increase in the stamp duty exemption threshold for younger homebuyers.
