Every item on restaurant's menu suddenly rockets to $500 on Uber Eats 07.07.2026

Uber Eats has officially terminated the partnership with Stax Burger Co, an Adelaide-based restaurant, following a public protest by owner Zaynn Bird. The conflict began when Bird increased the price of every menu item to $500 on the delivery app to protest Uber Eats' 30 per cent commission on sales. Bird expressed frustration that large platforms negatively impact food quality, service, and reputation, specifically citing issues with late deliveries and cold food. Consequently, Uber Eats removed the restaurant's Prospect and Golden Grove locations from its platform. While Bird is currently consulting lawyers to determine if any service agreements were breached, he remains open to future collaborations if delivery standards improve. Uber Eats responded by stating they attempted to remedy concerns but noted that the restaurant used the platform in a manner that undermined a genuine customer ordering experience.
