Ex-Anwalt bei ICE nennt Ausbildung "mangelhaft" 24.02.2026

Former ICE lawyer Ryan Schwank, who recently resigned as a legal instructor from the ICE training academy in Glynco, Georgia, has sharply criticized the agency's training program for new deportation officers. During a congressional forum held by Senator Richard Blumenthal and Representative Robert Garcia, Schwank labeled the program "deficient and inadequate," alleging that the 584-hour curriculum was cut by 240 hours. He claims essential topics like the US Constitution, lawful arrests, and use of force were removed, leading to poorly trained personnel. The Department of Homeland Security, however, denies these cuts, stating training was "optimized to avoid redundancies" without sacrificing core content. Schwank also revealed a policy allowing violent entry into homes without judicial warrants, raising concerns about constitutional rights and excessive force by rapidly expanding ICE forces.
