EXCLUSIVE: Nigerian Military Detains More Than 10 Soldiers Underground Over Leaks In Whistleblower Justice Crack’s Abduction Case 07.05.2026

More than ten Nigerian soldiers are reportedly being held in underground detention facilities at the Counter Intelligence Corps (CIC) in Abuja following leaks of sensitive information concerning the abduction and movements of activist Chidiebere Mark, known as Justice Crack. Senior officers at the CIC initiated an internal operation to identify personnel suspected of divulging details about Justice Crack's detention and whereabouts, allegedly frustrating plans to make him "disappear." The military high command reportedly became enraged after reports, including a SaharaReporters video showing Justice Crack's vehicle at a military facility, intensified public suspicion that the military was involved in his disappearance. Justice Crack was later handed over to the Department of State Services (DSS), who filed charges against him, which rights groups and lawyers condemn as an abuse of power and an attempt to silence dissent.
