FBI probing Texas shooting that killed two as potential act of terrorism 02.03.2026

Early Sunday morning, a shooting at Buford's Backyard Beer Garden in Austin, Texas, resulted in two fatalities and 14 injuries, with the FBI investigating the incident as a potential act of terrorism. The gunman, identified as 53-year-old Ndiaga Diagne, who was a naturalized US citizen originally from Senegal, opened fire from his SUV and then on foot with a pistol and rifle outside the popular nightlife spot near the University of Texas at Austin. The attack occurred a day after the US and Israel launched an operation against Iran, and authorities found "indicators" on the suspect and his vehicle suggesting a possible link to terrorism, though a definitive motive remains undetermined. Police officers responded swiftly, fatally shooting Diagne at the scene.
