Ethiopian Federal Police (EFP) Commissioner General Demelash Gebre-Michael stated that the institution has undergone significant reforms to modernize its capabilities and address Ethiopia's evolving security landscape and sophisticated crimes. These reforms, initiated since the current government took office, have enhanced the EFP's crime prevention and investigation capacities, equipping it to counter threats from the digital era and maintain national dignity. The EFP has achieved notable success in combating international and transnational crimes, particularly illegal human trafficking, apprehending numerous suspects and dismantling trafficking networks. These efforts have gained international recognition, and the EFP is actively cooperating with international law enforcement to tackle cross-border crimes, continuously modernizing its systems to remain effective against technologically advanced criminal activities.
