The president of the People's Party (PP), Alberto Núñez Feijóo, intensified his criticism of Pedro Sánchez's government during the closing of the PP's II Forum of Provincial Councils, Island Councils, and Consells in Castellón. In his speech, Feijóo focused on what he terms the Executive's "social engineering," pointing out that the combination of the extraordinary regularization of immigrants and the so-called "grandchildren law" will result in an increase of approximately eight million people in the Spanish population. The opposition leader questioned the lack of transparency and planning, asserting that the State is unprepared to manage a demographic increase of such magnitude due to insufficient financial resources and public services such as housing and healthcare.
