The 58th edition of the International Film Festival begins this afternoon in Karlovy Vary. The ceremonial opening will take place as tradition dictates at the Thermal Hotel, with the evening's main star being 88-year-old actor Dustin Hoffman, who will receive the Festival President's Award. Audiences know him from films such as Rain Man and Kramer vs. Kramer, for which he won an Oscar, as well as from The Little Big Man and Tootsie. At his request, the festival will screen his breakthrough film, The Graduate, directed by Mike Nichols, on Saturday, July 4.
