A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and her daughter Iltija Mufti for allegedly assaulting a police officer during a protest on Tuesday. The protest, organized by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was held to demand the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir's special status, which was revoked seven years ago. The incident occurred on the night of August 4, when Mehbooba Mufti led a sit-in outside the party office. According to police, demonstrators attempted to violate restrictions by blocking Residency Road and moving toward Lal Chowk, despite appeals for peace.
