A massive fire broke out last night (04), Saturday, in the protected forest area located near the Mahamevnawa Buddhist Temple in the Kumbumvela area, which falls under the Ella Police Division. Firefighters, police, members of the armed forces, forest conservation department officials, and local residents worked together to bring the fire under complete control. It is noted that no loss of life or injuries occurred due to this fire. Furthermore, the fire was prevented in a manner that ensured no property damage was caused to the temple or nearby residential areas. As the exact cause of the fire in this protected forest area has not yet been identified, the Ella police are currently conducting intensive further investigations into the matter. This incident has caused significant alarm among the local residents.
