Portugal has activated the European Civil Protection Mechanism and bilateral agreements with Spain and Morocco to combat forest fires, despite the Prime Minister's assurance that national capacity has not been exhausted. The situation is exacerbated by unfavorable weather conditions, including strong winds and high temperatures, with 13 districts under red alert. Several fires are concerning authorities, most notably the Vouzela fire, which has spread to four municipalities and has five active fronts, as well as fires in Barcelos, Setúbal, and Arouca. A total of 92 occurrences were recorded as of 6:00 PM today, mobilizing 3,025 personnel, with the night expected to be complex in areas with active fires.
