Fishing boat wreck donated to help investigators 09.05.2026

The wreck of the fishing vessel Nicola Faith, which tragically sank off the Conwy coast on January 27, 2021, resulting in the loss of three lives, has been donated by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) to Cranfield University in Bedfordshire. After being raised from the seabed and thoroughly investigated by the MAIB in May 2021, the vessel will now serve as a vital educational tool for training future maritime accident investigators. The donation includes factual evidence to create realistic capsize scenarios, allowing trainees to practice their skills. The Nicola Faith will be renamed Pisces II, replacing the current training vessel Pisces, and aims to enhance safety through practical learning.
