Five, including baby girl, killed after family vehicle crashes into water pipe in Serian 03.06.2026

A tragic single-vehicle accident occurred this morning along Jalan Baki Lama-Ensengei in Serian, resulting in the deaths of five individuals, including a two-year-old girl. The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) reported that firefighters were dispatched at 8:41 am to find a vehicle that had collided with a water pipe. The victims, believed to be a family, consisted of one man, three women aged between 16 and 47, and the young child. While firefighters extricated the four adult victims from the vehicle, the baby girl was discovered by civilians near the crash site, having likely been ejected during the impact. Ministry of Health personnel confirmed all five victims deceased at the scene before police took custody of the bodies for further investigation into the accident's cause.
