The Gridlock Hackathon, now in its second edition, represents a collaborative effort between Flipkart, the Bengaluru traffic police, and technology partners MapmyIndia, Arcadis, and HackerEarth. The initiative aims to crowdsource artificial intelligence and machine-learning solutions to address Bengaluru’s severe traffic and urban mobility challenges. With 33,600 registrations from students, developers, and working professionals across India, participants developed more than 1,100 prototypes using anonymized, real-world traffic datasets.
