Ford recalls 177,000 vehicles over faulty wiper, drivetrain and other issues 07.07.2026

Ford Motor is recalling over 177,000 vehicles due to three distinct safety defects identified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The first issue involves Mustang vehicles where windshield wiper and washing systems may malfunction in cold temperatures, potentially leaving wipers stuck on high speed or the washer system completely inoperable. Additionally, a pinion shaft defect poses risks of losing drive power or causing parked vehicles to move if the parking brake is not engaged. Finally, Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid and Explorer Hybrid models face potential failures in their pedestrian warning sound systems. Ford will provide free repairs at authorized dealerships to address these specific safety concerns. Owners of affected vehicles should expect notification letters later this month regarding these recalls. This announcement follows a larger June recall involving 741,000 vehicles due to faulty parking systems.
