Starting March 1, 2026, several changes will impact French citizens' daily lives and purchasing power. Hospitalization fees are set to increase, with the daily hospital allowance rising from €20 to €23, psychiatric care from €15 to €17, and the emergency room forfait from €19.61 to €23. The indicative gas price will rise by 3.93%, affecting cooking, hot water, and heating costs. A €2 tax will be applied to small parcels from outside the EU, with a European tax of €3 to follow. Companies with over 1,000 employees must ensure at least 30% women in executive and management committees, a quota that will rise to 40% in 2029. Over 500 tobacco brands will see price increases, though some may decrease. Vehicle registration costs will rise by an average of 2.4%. Family allowances will be adjusted, with the age for increased benefits shifting from 14 to 18. Certain savings plans (PEL) opened after March 1, 2011, will be automatically closed after 15 years. Technical inspections for two-wheelers will be stricter, and the use of CPF funds for driving licenses will be restricted to job seekers and those with third-party funding.
