Former two-term Endau assemblywoman Alwiyah Talib has announced her resignation from Bersatu to rejoin Umno, her original party. Alwiyah, who previously served as Mersing Bersatu chief, stated her decision was a voluntary move made for the benefit of her constituents in Endau. She was first elected as the Endau assemblyman in 2018 while representing Umno, securing a majority of 3,030 votes. Following the political shifts, she joined Bersatu and was subsequently re-elected in the 2022 Johor polls on a Perikatan Nasional ticket, defeating her Umno opponent by 3,041 votes. Her departure from Bersatu and all party posts is effective immediately.
