Garrett Nussmeier, a former LSU quarterback, is emerging as a notable prospect for the 2026 NFL Draft, aiming to be the second passer selected after Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza. Despite a challenging 2024 season at LSU, marred by a persistent core injury that significantly impacted his performance and led to him being benched multiple times, Nussmeier showcased flashes of NFL-caliber play. He led the SEC in completions (337) and attempts (525), throwing for 4,052 yards and 29 touchdowns, and earned MVP honors in the Texas Bowl.
