Fors meer meldingen van oplichting: 'Verschil tussen nep en echt moeilijk' 21.02.2026

The Fraudehelpdesk reports a significant increase in fraud incidents, with a 60 percent rise in reports to over 100,000 and a 65 percent increase in victims losing money. Last year, fraudsters caused nearly 69 million euros in damages. The Fraudehelpdesk emphasizes the need to resist psychological pressure, improve fraud recognition, report all incidents without shame, and enhance collaboration to prosecute offenders. Notably, cryptocurrency is being used more frequently in scams, and reports of fraudsters requesting credit card details have exploded, often leading victims into unwanted subscriptions.
