Four men, aged 18 to 25, have been arrested by Rietgat police in Pretoria in connection with a robbery and kidnapping incident that occurred on May 29. The victim was lured to Soshanguve via a Facebook Marketplace advertisement for mag rims priced at R3,500. Upon arrival at a designated location, the victim was taken to a second site where four armed suspects took control of the vehicle. They attempted to steal the vehicle but failed, instead robbing the victim of belongings, forcing access to their cellphone and banking app, and transferring R4,000 from a Capitec account. The victim was released unharmed, and the suspects were apprehended on Monday, June 1.
