Fórsa, the largest public service trade union in Ireland, has announced that its members have voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action, including the possibility of full-scale strikes. The ballot, which opened on 4 August, involved more than 90,000 members across health, education, local government, and State departments. The result showed 96% in favour on a 72% turnout, reflecting what the union describes as strong concern about pay and living standards.
