Funeral ceremonies for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, enter their third day in Tehran this Sunday. Following his death on February 28 at age 86 due to strikes by the United States and Israel, massive crowds have gathered to pay tribute. Funeral prayers are scheduled for 8:00 a.m., led by a grand religious authority. The ceremonies, which began Friday, have seen participation from dignitaries representing over seventy countries, including leaders from Russia, Turkey, Iraq, Pakistan, and China. Mourners are expected to reach between 10 and 20 million people. After lying in state at Tehran’s Grand Prayer Grounds, the body will move to Qom on July 7, followed by ceremonies in Iraq on July 8. The final burial is scheduled for July 9 at the Imam Reza Shrine in Mashhad.
