Galicia will experience a significant rise in temperatures during the weekend, leading the Iberian Peninsula in this phenomenon. By Saturday, it is expected that most of the autonomous community will be under warnings for maximum temperatures reaching at least 36 degrees Celsius. This heat episode follows other high readings in late May and during the second half of June, indicating a trend toward more extreme temperatures than usual for the season. A red heat alert will affect 158 Galician municipalities (concellos) during the Saturday session.
