In Nîmes, France, an 8-year-old boy was fatally struck by a car on Tuesday, February 17th, while en route to school. The incident occurred on avenue des Arts in the Pissevin district. Following initial arrests, two additional suspects were apprehended on Wednesday, February 18th, and placed in police custody. These latest individuals are believed to have been passengers in the vehicle at the time of the collision. With these new detentions, a total of eight people are now in custody as investigators work to definitively identify the driver. A preliminary investigation for aggravated vehicular homicide, dangerous driving, and hit-and-run has been opened by the Nîmes prosecutor.
