Gaza : le Hamas ouvert à la présence de forces étrangères, sans ingérence20 févr. 20.02.2026

The Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas has expressed openness to the presence of foreign peace forces in the Gaza Strip, provided they do not interfere in internal affairs. A Hamas spokesperson, Hazem Qassem, stated on Friday that these forces would monitor and ensure the implementation of a ceasefire, acting as a buffer between the Israeli army and the Palestinian people. This stance comes in response to a plan by U.S. President Donald Trump, discussed at his "Peace Council" meeting in Washington on Thursday, which proposes deploying an International Stabilization Force (ISF) of up to 20,000 soldiers, potentially including 8,000 Indonesians. Five countries have already committed troops, and a new Palestinian police force is being recruited in Gaza, with Egypt and Jordan agreeing to provide training.
