Spectacular video footage captured the event, showing a large snow cloud engulfing dozens of skiers, including children, who were waiting in line for a lift on the Zerotta blue piste. Many skiers were caught by surprise as the approaching snow mass was obscured by a nearby forest. While initial reports indicated no one was buried, those present were enveloped by the snow cloud's spray. Search dog teams were deployed as a precaution.
