A 15-year-old girl was seriously injured this morning when she was struck by a car while cycling on the Draaierweg in Amsterdam Noord. The sequence of events began around 11:00 AM, when police received an initial report of a car driving with a damaged windshield. Approximately ten minutes later, emergency services were alerted to the injured girl. The girl was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Police suspect that the car with the damaged windshield was involved in the accident and subsequently arrested the driver. Upon arrest, the driver was found to be under the influence—it remains unclear whether this was alcohol, drugs, or both.
