Aus für POP-Import in Gmail: Google verlängert Gnadenfristvor 2 Stundenheise online 23.02.2026

Google has extended the grace period for users to transition away from POP import and Gmailify features in Gmail. Originally slated for discontinuation in January, new users will now have until the end of March to adapt, while existing users can continue using these functions until they are phased out later in 2026, though a specific date remains unannounced. These features allow for the continuous retrieval of emails from other accounts and sending emails using a different sender address directly within the Gmail web client. While POP access for third-party clients remains unaffected, the integration of other accounts into the Gmail web app will cease. Google suggests setting up permanent forwarding as an alternative, though this is not a direct replacement. IMAP integration into Gmail's mobile apps for Android and iOS will continue, but without the advanced features like Gmail's spam filtering and categorization.
