Gold prices in Egypt witnessed a continuous decline at the start of morning trading today, Sunday, July 5, 2026, according to announcements by the Gold and Jewelry Division of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Gold Billion. This decline reflects a general trend for the yellow metal since last June, as the market undergoes fluctuations including temporary rises followed by decreases. The price of 21-karat gold, the most traded, was recorded at 5,885 EGP for purchase and 5,865 EGP for sale, excluding manufacturing fees. Meanwhile, 24-karat gold was recorded at approximately 6,726 EGP for purchase, while the price of a gold pound reached 47,080 EGP for purchase. Globally, the gold ounce price stabilized at $4,174 for purchase and $4,173.5 for sale, highlighting the divergence in the metal's movement between the local and global markets amid these ongoing price fluctuations.
